Week of Red Clay Tennis & Surf at Jade Nosara
Spending a week at Jade Nosara for a tennis and surf retreat was more than a vacation—it was a full reset. I arrived with a carry-on, my tennis racquet, and a surfboard. I left with a calmer mind, a stronger serve, salt in my hair, and a deep sense of joy.
Each morning started with tennis on the stunning red clay courts, shaded by towering palms and warmed by the early sun. Whether we were drilling footwork or playing spirited doubles matches, the energy was supportive, fun, and focused. The courts had this magical quality—located in the center of town we enjoyed coffee and breakfast at Organico Bakery across the street.
By late morning, we traded rackets for surfboards. Playa Guiones is just minutes away, and the waves were beginner-friendly but still exhilarating. Local surf coaches helped fine-tune our technique, and falling into the warm Pacific became a daily ritual I quickly craved.
Afternoons were for unwinding—lounging by the pool, reading in the Garden of Eden, or indulging in nourishing meals by Chef Mau, who somehow knew exactly what my body needed after hours of movement. Sunsets on the beach every night were the perfect way to end the day.
But what made the experience truly special was the community. There’s a warmth and authenticity in this town that makes you feel like you belong. We planted trees on the beach with Costas Verdes — truly an incredible experience. We will be back.
